I have noticed this 6-month-old mandrake (germinated in 2021 September) not looking quite vigorous – floppy leaves, new growth stopped growing. Upon on closer inspections I saw little bugs crawling around in the soil 😬

So I unpotted it to check on it (to make sure no root rot), and to change its soil to prevent further pest infestations. Apparently poor thing is also in desperate need of more space…😮💨 Look at that curled up root 😣

I rinsed off as much of old soil as possible, and managed to break off all the remaining green leaves and a small bundle of tiny roots 😞🤦🏻♀️ I saved those for shenanigans….
Now poor thing has new soil in a larger pot, and I’m sure I have pretty much pushed it to go dormant 🤦🏻♀️. It’s getting hot in Central Texas already so it is likely the root was starting to go dormant already, and I just hastened the process. Hopefully it will get some good sleep in the next several months. 🌱😴🌱
