With the arrival of a New Moon, Gates of the Netherworld closed and the Ghost Month concluded on September 10, 2026. There was a sense of heaviness for this New Moon, because it landed on the first anniversary of Charlie Kirk’s assassination, and the next day was the 25th anniversary of 9/11 terrorist attack. Regardless how you feel about Charlie Kirk, there is NEVER any excuse for political violence, and we must call out and stand up against those who promote such violence. We must also NEVER forget what happened to our nation 25 years ago — the lives lost, the pain and suffering of those left behind, the heroic stories, the compassion shared among strangers.
Enough of my old lady rambling… The card pull for the new moon cycle’s outlook is actually much more optimistic…
- Current Outlook — Ten of Cups — Completion of an emotional cycle. Maybe there is finally closure to unfinished business, particularly dealing with matters of the heart. There is a sense of relief, maybe even bliss. Now that Ghost Month is behind us, and we have all survived it, rather unscathed I hope, it is sure something to celebrate.
- Known Influence — King of Swords — We have been driven by high standards, integrity and a sense of ethical clarity. We feel the need to be objective when viewing a situation, and use our intellect to attain our goals.
- Unknown Influence — The Hermit — Yet we also feel the need to look inward. We want to pause, to step back from worldly noise and examine our inner selves. We might even want to isolate ourselves a little bit to sort things out.
- Action to Take — Four of Wands — We are asked to remember the importance of community. Not just random people who give you clicks and likes on social media or fake friends who disappear in the first sign of harship; but your people. People who get you, who like you for being you, people you can rely on.
- Be Aware of This — Seven of Wands — And of course, when there are a group of people, there will be conflicts. That’s why it is important to form your community with people you can develop genuine relationships.
- Overall Direction — The Chariot — Now is time for action. Whatever you’ve been thinking about doing, start doing it now. Don’t wait for the “perfect time”, the “perfect conditions” or the “perfect people”. Just do it.
