No Harsh Language Around Honey Bees

In Celtic/British bee lore, honey bees dislike harsh language, and one should not speak vulgarly around bees…

I was teaching my husband Cantonese swear words, and we were practicing and laughing out loud… Apparently a few honey bees got into the house — I have no idea how or when — and one of them stung me as I was explaining the context and usage of Cantonese cuss words!!!! And as soon as we stopped practicing cussing, the bees disappeared…

I guess I offended the bees with my Cantonese swearing… And that was their way to tell me “knock it off!”

Yes, that’s a bee stinger you are looking at. I even tried staying still to let her work her stinger out, but she flew away right the way, leaving the stinger behind. Oh yeah, my hand is now totally swollen…😅

My hand, the next day, even more swollen

So the lesson of the day is… DO NOT SWEAR AROUND HONEY BEES!
